Watermelon + Cucumber Cosmopolitan

0. Comments

It’s mid July in South Florida and the humidity has no plan of going away anytime soon.  The air is thick and has me hiding out at home till late afternoon. We’ve been passing our time along pretty OK, the kids are heading back to school in about 4 weeks {hi-five to all of you working at home while attempting to entertain your children!}.

By the evening the weather let’s up so we’ve been spending tons of time grilling, not only is it delicious but it cuts my kitchen cleanup time in half!

While waiting on the food to grill I like to have something light and refreshing to sip on and this Watermelon + Cucumber Cosmopolitan is just what the meteorologist ordered.

WATERMELON + CUCUMBER COSMOPOLITAN
Watermelon, mint, cucumber and lime merge to create a light and refreshing cocktail. Michelle Lara: | Cupcakes, Cocktails & Kids

The idea behind this cocktail came from the mixologist at Himmarshee Public House in Fort Lauderdale. If you live in the area or happen to be on vacation you definitely want to check them out.

They serve up American classics with a modern spin. They have tons of innovative cocktails on their menu plus an impressive lineup of local craft beer.

Watermelon and cucumber are incredibly refreshing and while most Cosmos are made with Vodka this one is made with Hendricks Gin, which has a crisper taste in my opinion.
