I love to infuse flavor into my cocktails and one of the best ways to do that by adding flavored simple syrups. One of my favorite flavors is ginger and I wanted to share this recipe that I pinned and constantly go back to when creating cocktails.
The original recipe calls for more ginger but I found it too spicy for my liking so I’ve lessened it, but if you love the spicy flavor by all means add more!
Ginger Simple Syrup Recipe:
- 5 – 6 ounces fresh ginger, unpeeled
- 4 cups of water
- 2 cups of sugar
- pinch salt
- Cut the ginger into thin slices. Heat to a boil, then reduce the heat to a steady simmer, and cook for about 30 minutes.
- Let cool, then strain the syrup. Store the strained syrup in the refrigerator, covered, until ready to use. The syrup should keep for at least two weeks under refrigeration.
