I love to infuse flavor into my cocktails and one of the best ways to do that by adding flavored simple syrups. One of my favorite flavors is ginger and I wanted to share this recipe that I pinned and constantly go back to when creating cocktails.

The original recipe calls for more ginger but I found it too spicy for my liking so I’ve lessened it, but if you love the spicy flavor by all means add more!

Ginger Simple Syrup Recipe:

  • 5 – 6 ounces fresh ginger, unpeeled
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • pinch salt
  1. Cut the ginger into thin slices.  Heat to a boil, then reduce the heat to a steady simmer, and cook for about 30 minutes.
  2. Let cool, then strain the syrup. Store the strained syrup in the refrigerator, covered, until ready to use. The syrup should keep for at least two weeks under refrigeration.
