Beauty Talk: Eliminating Frizz And Creating Fabulous Curls

0. Comments

Curly Hair Tips When you have curly hair it takes a whole lot of work to keep those tresses in place, especially if your hair is thick {which mine is}. It’s been about two years since I switched over to gentler products and have noticed a huge difference.

Here is what I’m doing to combat the frizz:

Step 1: Cleansing + Conditioning // At a recent trip to TJ Maxx {love that place!} I came across the brand THEORIE, {which is a sulfate free line} for only $8 a total steal. I’m currently using their Green Tea shampoo and conditioner. It smells amazing and my hair is loving all the extra moisture.

Step 2: Drying // Don’t rub your hair with a towel you need to blot the moisture out. By shaking your hair dry with a towel you create friction that later turns to frizz. Replace your regular terry cloth towels and opt for a microfiber one or a cotton t-shirt. Yes that says t-shirt – I’ve been doing this for years along with reducing frizz it minimizes breakage.

Step 3: Combing // Brushes are now working double duty. My hairstylist uses a Moroccan Oil paddle brush and swears by it.  I picked up a Peter Coppola Argan Oil Brush at TJ Maxx and have experienced less breakage and more shine.

Step 4: Defining // Lock the moisture in those curls with a leave in curl cream. I love Moroccan Oil Curling Creme it eliminates frizz and creates soft bouncy curls that last all day.

Step 5: Hold // Now that you have the perfect curls in place they need to stay there. I have never been a fan of sticky extra hold hairspray it can make hair look dull. Opt for a flexible hold hairspray like Living Proof’s Flex Shaping Hairspray. It holds the style in place while still making it touchable. It also offers humidity protection {a total must for the upcoming spring/summer months}.
